Huber Engineered Woods Acquires Assets From Extreme Green Building Products
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (March 30, 2020) – Innovative building products manufacturer Huber Engineered Woods LLC (“HEW”), a subsidiary of J.M. Huber Corporation, announced today that it has acquired certain assets from Extreme Green Building Products, LLC (“Extreme Green”), known for its range of non-combustible1, magnesium oxide products. As a market leader in specialty building enclosure and subflooring products, HEW’s acquisition reflects the company’s consistent growth of its structural sheathing and accessories product portfolio.
Products from Extreme Green complement HEW’s broad offering of innovative building solutions. The Charlotte, NC-headquartered company launched the first high-performance oriented strand board subflooring more than 20 years ago with the introduction of AdvanTech® subflooring. Its ZIP System™ Building Enclosures line of integrated sheathing and flashing materials has revolutionized the way building teams achieve an efficient, effective rough dry-in.
“Innovation and advancement have always been paramount to the success of our company as we listen to and provide for the needs of an evolving construction industry,” said Brian Carlson, president of Huber Engineered Woods. “This acquisition continues in that tradition, giving us the opportunity to provide our customers and building teams with fire-rated, non-combustible building solutions.”
Made from magnesium oxide technology, extremegreen® products are used in wall and subflooring fire-rated assemblies in commercial, multi-family and single-family construction. With this acquisition, HEW has obtained certain assets of Extreme Green Building Products, LLC’s magnesium oxide structural sheathing products business. The acquired technology aligns with HEW’s goal of providing high-quality product innovations to help jobsite efficiency.
1 extremegreen® panels have been third-party tested to meet ASTM E136 standards for non-combustibility.
